The Guidance Week 2012 with the theme, “Appreciating Yourself and Others: Building a Community of Trust, Respect and Empathy” was held last August 28 to September 1, 2012. This week-long celebration has been observed thru and exhibit seminars for the students, games, inter-clubbing and other activities offered by the office. This activity is done annually for the students and the whole community of NDDU to become aware of the programs and services offered by the Guidance and Testing Center.
Last August 28, 2012, the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the said celebration has been done at the Students’ Center. The PGS Tuesday Group who participated in the event then moved to the Auditorium to answer the self-esteem worksheet. The NDDU Likas Teatro had a presentation related to the theme.
On August 30, 2012, all PGS Thursday Group participated in the culmination activity of the Guidance Week. The culmination activity was highlighted with essay writing contest, declamation contest per college, awarding of super teacher and answering the self-esteem worksheet.
After the culmination activity, all third year college students participated in the “Follow Your Dreams” Seminar. This seminar was designed for the students to appreciate and understand the relationship between school and work; identify why people work; and be familiar with making transitions from college to work.
Last September 1, 2012, student leaders and peer facilitators from the different high schools in General Santos City joined a free half-day high school inter-clubbing. A facilitative skills seminar facilitated by Ms Karen Cristina Balatbat was participated by high school students. The NDDU Peer Facilitators’ Society led the said activity at the Open Field.
