The Local Government Unit of Sarangani extended grateful gestures to Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) and College of Engineering and Technology (CET) Alumni through a ‘Research Output Turnover Rites’ held during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Capitol Building, Provincial Capitol Park, Alabel, Sarangani Province on July 23, 2012.
Sarangani Province represented by Mr. Serafin Ramos, Jr. and Mr. Larry Asparin of the Provincial Information and Tourism Office, accepted the Certificate of Donation from NDDU and the CET Alumni-Researchers. Engr. Sheila Jingle Soriño, Dean-CET, represented NDDU during the ceremony.
Under the terms of the certificate, the LGU of Sarangani Province is allowed to use the “Electronic Travel Planner in Sarangani Province with Mobile Tourism Guide,” a research output of three (3) Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) Alumni of NDDU, namely: Meljay A. Ilagan, Abigail S. Javier, and Eric Jim L. Ofredo. The researchers were mentored by their research adviser, Ms. Lorelyn F. Adrales, M.C.S.
The research was among the ‘Top 10 Best Student Researches’ of the university during last year’s ‘Student Research Forum’ and was also awarded as the forum’s ‘Most Practical Research.’
Once again, the turnover proved the level of competence of NDDU alumni in making a difference to the greater whole.
