The study surveyed 120 BSHM students across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in General Santos City, applying descriptive-correlational analysis to explore both the extent of entrepreneurship education and the factors influencing studentsโ€™ entrepreneurial intentions. Results showed a predominantly female student population, with many supported by parents working as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) or retirees, and most receiving monthly allowances below PHP 3,000.

Entrepreneurship education was rated at a โ€œvery high extentโ€ across curriculum, program structure, extracurricular activities, pedagogical practices, and assessment. Students also expressed very high levels of perceived desirability toward entrepreneurship, while their propensity to act and perceived feasibility were both rated at a high extent. Notably, age emerged as a significant factor, with older students showing stronger entrepreneurial intentions in terms of feasibility, desirability, and action.

Prof. Punsalan emphasized that the findings highlight the importance of designing interdisciplinary and industry-based initiatives to strengthen entrepreneurial skills among hospitality students. The researchers recommended that HEIs promote collaborations integrating hospitality management with business, innovation, and technology through targeted training, industry immersion, and joint student-faculty projects.
