Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) Peace Education Center, in collaboration with the Office of International Relations (OIR), held a webinar on water conservation and environmental care via Zoom on October 5 as part of the culmination of Season of Creation 2026.
The webinar centered on this yearโs theme, โLiving Water: Caring for Water and Our Common Home,โ and discussed the importance of water conservation, environmental responsibility, and the protection of the common home.
Dr. Al Flores Quillope, professor and program coordinator of the MSc Applied Psychology programmes at Manipal University Dubai, served as the resource speaker and shared his perspective on water, environmental care, and the interconnectedness of all creation.
Quillope holds a Masterโs degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Psychology, and he previously served as Coordinator of Religious Education at NDDU and Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environment at Notre Dame of Marbel University.
He has advocated for environmental education and convened Green Schools, a network of 42 public and private schools in South Cotabato that promotes environmental awareness and sustainability, while his background in psychology, education, peace, and environmental advocacy informed his discussion on the theme.
The activity began with the opening prayer, Philippine National Anthem, and NDDU Hymn, followed by welcome remarks from NDDU Peace Education Center President Yessha Margareth D. Alfanta and the introduction of the resource speaker by NDDU Peace Education Center Coordinator Beejay Galay Montes.
A question-and-answer session followed the webinar proper, allowing participants to engage with Quillope on the topics discussed before International Relations Officer Dr. Rogen A. Doronila delivered the closing remarks and acknowledgments.
Organizers said the culminating activity provided an opportunity to reflect on the Season of Creation and deepen participantsโ understanding of their responsibility to care for water resources and the environment.
