This gesture of support carries personal significance, as KPES is the elementary school where Br. Manny, as he is fondly called, began his academic journey.
Alongside the NDDU President were Dr. Jovir C. Ignacio, Vice President for Administration; Sr. Sela Misinale, Campus Ministry Directress; Mr. Rabindranath Porsuelo, Coordinator of the Community Involvement Services; Dr. Jet Edward V. Ondaro, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Ersweetcel C. Servano, Dean of the College of Education; and Ms. Chyril Concemino, in charge of Management Information Systems (MIS), as well as a few faculty members and staff.
The team was warmly welcomed by KPES Principal, together with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) President and school community members and a few students. A brief turnover program and the signing of the deed of donation were held, followed by a delightful lunch shared in the spirit of community and gratitude.NDDUโs donation reflects its enduring commitment to social responsibility, local engagement, and the transformative power of education. By supporting grassroots initiatives like this, the university seeks to foster digital inclusion and strengthen foundational learning environments.
Aligned with its broader internationalization agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this simple yet significant effort is part of NDDUโs ongoing strategy to promote equitable access to quality education and cultivate global citizenshipโbeginning in local communities. Providing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools to public schools affirms the universityโs mission to help ensure that no learner is left behind in todayโs increasingly digital world.
As the university celebrates its 19th anniversary of being granted university status, this act of giving back reinforces NDDUโs vision of forming minds and touching heartsโone community at a time.
