The Black Manta Rays fully embraced the โde-mureโ theme yesterday afternoon as the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS) held its annual Campus Connection.
With a theme “Dรจ-Mure: Where Serene Souls Meet, and Elegance Unites”, students showed off “cutesy” and “coquette-esque” outfits, with pastel colors, ribbons, and lace being the predominant fashion choices of the day.
The event entertained the attendees with interactive activities like Guess the Emoji and the Whisper Challenge during the first part of the CampCon.
Moreover, talent was on full display during the vocal solo and duet performances. Jannah La Torre captivated the audience with her solo performance, while Shamela J. Podpod and April Louise G. Malagambares wowed everyone with their duet.
The energy ramped up even more during the Lip Sync Battle, where participants delivered energetic renditions of Shakiraโs “Waka-Waka” and Psyโs “Gangnam Style.” Dexter Go and Jerome Rivera stole the show with their K-pop-inspired routine, ultimately winning the battle.
Meanwhile, Parokya ni Jinrieโs performance was electrifying, earning them the top spot during the most anticipated Battle of the Bands.
The highlight of the event came when the best-dressed participants were announced. Mark Fabe and Irineo Lopez took the titles of Mr. and Ms. Cutesy, while Keane Allado and Gaile Tuzon were respectively crowned as Mr. and Ms. Demure.
Prince Ali and Margarett Bucal, on the other hand, were also recognized for their thoughtful and mindful interpretations of the theme.
The celebration ended on a high note with an exhilarating set from DJ Lexx, leaving everyone energized and eager for next yearโs Campus Connection.
