𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘋𝘳. 𝘊𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦

𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 — Strengthening the voice of the Marist East Asia Province in international economic discourse while demonstrating Notre Dame of Dadiangas University’s (NDDU) active role in global Marist leadership, 𝘿𝙧. 𝘼𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝘾𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙤, Dean of the Business College, served as one of the key delegates in the 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙨 (𝙄𝘾𝙀𝘼) meeting held in 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖 from 𝙉𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 11 to 15, 2024.Representing not only NDDU but also the Marist East Asia Province, Dr. Custodio’s participation placed a distinguished Filipino academic leader at the heart of international economic and financial deliberations within the Marist network. Her involvement underscores the university’s commitment to internationalization, collaborative governance, and the advancement of 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝟭𝟳 – 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀.The meeting’s agenda included a comprehensive evaluation of financial data from Marist administrative units for fiscal year 2023, a review of current information systems, and a forward-looking discussion on the economic-financial strategies in preparation for the XXIII General Chapter to be hosted in the Philippines in 2025. The council also tackled prospective changes to the Constitutions and Statutes with regard to financial management and accountability.Beyond the formal sessions, delegates had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Marist mission in Nigeria, learning about the local Apostolic Works and the life of Marist brothers and lay collaborators serving in African communities. This cultural and pastoral engagement enriched the participants’ understanding of Marist solidarity across regions.Dr. Custodio’s contribution to this international platform not only highlights her leadership in economic affairs but also enhances NDDU’s visibility and voice in global academic and religious networks. As NDDU continues to participate in cross-border initiatives and interprovincial collaboration, this engagement represents another milestone in the university’s pursuit of excellence in educational diplomacy and mission-driven global partnerships.
