Officials from Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) have taken a significant step toward global academic collaboration through an official visit to Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) in Thailand, aimed at laying the groundwork for a Transnational Higher Education (TNHE) partnership.
The visit brought together key academic leaders from NDDU, including Dr. Jose C. Dagoc Jr., Vice President for Academics; Dr. Lorelyn F. Adrales, University Registrar; and Dr. Rogen A. Doronila, University International Relations Officer. The delegation engaged in strategic discussions with HCU counterparts to explore pathways for academic cooperation under the framework of transnational education, in alignment with Republic Act 11448 and CHED policies on internationalization.
As part of the continuing efforts to advance the partnership, NDDU initiated the sharing of academic curricula with HCU, which serves as a key element in the formulation and alignment of proposed TNHE programs. This exchange is expected to support the development of joint offerings that are responsive to international standards while remaining grounded in institutional strengths.
A key highlight of the visit was the series of benchmarking engagements across HCU units, which provided NDDU officials with insights into best practices in academic delivery, student services, and institutional internationalization. The visit also culminated in the formal giving of a plaque and token of partnership to HCU Vice President for Academics, Dr. Jonathan Carreon, symbolizing the strengthening collaboration and shared commitment of both institutions toward advancing transnational higher education.
