NDDU Hosts Indonesian Consulate Forum to Strengthen Global Ties

Students of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) joined a courtesy visit and interactive forum on regional cooperation hosted in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao at the NDDU HM Lab Function Hall this morning, bringing diplomats, educators, and students together for a focused dialogue on international engagement.
The visit opened with the welcoming of the Indonesian delegation led by Consul General Agus Trenggono, following the formalities of an invocation, the national anthems of both countries, and the NDDU Hymn.
A welcome note and message of appreciation were delivered by Dr. Jet Edward V. Ondaro, which he introduced and acknowledged the distinguished guests from the Indonesian Consulate.
Consul General Agus Trenggono delivered his message of support, emphasizing the significance of deepening regional understanding between Indonesia and the Philippines.
Consul for Economic Affairs Novita S. D. Supit presented developments in trade, education, and scholarship programs, highlighting the relevant opportunities available to Filipino students.
Consul for Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs Umi Yanti Febriana Silalahi discussed cultural exchange initiatives, while she stressed the importance of sustained people-to-people connections.
An open discussion followed as students engaged directly with the Indonesian consuls, encouraging participants to explore broader avenues for international cooperation.
Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Jose C. Dagoc, Jr., reaffirming NDDU’s commitment to strengthening meaningful global linkages for future student leaders.
The program concluded with the handover of a token of appreciation and a photo opportunity while the gesture signaled a continuing effort to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Indonesia and the Philippines.
