The NDDU community expressed their gratitude for the enlightenment and knowledge gained in advocating a healthy that positively impacts physical. mental. and emotional health from this year’s Professorial Lecture in Health Sciences on Lifestyle Management and Adherences. The lecture held on April 15, 2023, at NDDU Bro. James McKnight Auditorium was well-attended by the Support Services Personnel. Faculty, Administrators, and select students of the University.
Mr. Joe Michael A. Jimenez, MBA introduced the resource speaker after the delivery of the opening message by Dr. Victoria R. Babac. Research Director.
Dr. Rocky F. Undangan, a Medical Doctor and an advocate of occupational health, and safety, was the resource speaker of the program. He emphasized salient points centered on several compelling reasons why people should adhere to a healthy Lifestyle. He also posted an urgent challenge to everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle that promotes physical well-being like regular exercise, a balanced diet. and sufficient sleep that contribute to maintaining a healthy weight. reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease. diabetes, and certain types of cancer. and enhancing overall physical fitness. Inputs on longevity and disease prevention. better stress
management. role modeling. and social influence were also delivered in the lecture.
The open forum moderated by Mr. Yvan R. Gumbao, MPA. elicited more timely and fascinating questions that were intelligently answered by the speaker.
It is the NDDU Research and Publications Center’s hope that the knowledge gained by the attendees from the lecture will make them better understand that a healthy lifestyle is indeed a long-term commitment that requires consistency and dedication; that small, sustainable changes gradually incorporated into one’s daily routine can lead to significant benefits for one’s overall health and well-being; and that embracing a healthy lifestyle can surely inspire and influence one’s social circles.
