The BSN Level 3 – Class B student nurses of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) recently concluded their Community Health Nursing (CHN) field exposure with a successful culmination activity and multi-service medical mission. Moving beyond traditional hospital walls, the immersive exposure allowed the students to deliver direct health education, promote wellness, and address fundamental healthcare needs right at the heart of the community.
The successful initiative was made possible through strong local partnerships and the collaborative efforts of local leaders, healthcare professionals, and generous benefactors. Special recognition goes to Purok Chairman Sir Peter Alfeche for his leadership and support, and to Dr. Affie Saikol for heading the medical mission. Key contributions included 50 essential care packages donated by Hon. Lorelie G. Pacquiao, free agricultural seedlings provided by Acting City Agriculturist Elsie Silva Villanueva, and free pet anti-rabies vaccinations facilitated by City Veterinary Director Dr. Edward Alexander I. Leyson. Residents also benefited from free haircut services organized by City Councilor Jonathan Blando in partnership with barber Cesar Teves.
Essential medical supplies, medications, and community resources were made available thanks to the generous support of Farmacia Beatriz, Jeska Obseรฑares, Mary Grace J. Lapiad, Llorielard A. Larona, Naomi Echalar, Jacqueline F. Constantino, and the Tabique, Adelmita, Gustame, Salvador, and Manginsay families. Deep gratitude is also extended to local barangay officials, the 14C team, transport partners, volunteer student nurses, and Clinical Instructors Ma’am Malou and Ma’am Karen for their continuous mentorship and guidance. Through this meaningful community journey, NDDU BSN 3B reaffirmed their dedication to compassionate service, community advocacy, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
